John Felix Anthony Cena, better known as WWE superstar John Cena,was born on April 23, 1977 in West Newbury, Massachusetts, to Carol (Lupien) and John Cena. He is of Italian (father) and French-Canadian and English (mother) descent, and is the grandson of baseball player TonyLupien. When he was in college, he played football. He then continued onto be a bodybuilder and a limousine driver. The 6-foot-1 tall star weighs exactly at 240 pounds and is a very successful superstar in the WWE.The Dr. of Thuganomics started training to be a wrestler at Ultimate Pro Wrestling where he also created the character, The Prototype. He won the match, and the traditional WrestleMania title shot. Cena also had a match against JBL, which he defeated at Judgment Day and then at One Night Stand in a First Blood match. However, JBL defeated him atthe New York City Parking Lot Brawl. In the month of August, Cena had to replaced by Rey Mysterio after it was announced Cena had suffered a herniated disk in his neck which will require surgery and he will be out of action indefinitely. According to reports, Cena underwent successive surgery to repair the herniated disk inhis neck with Doctor Joseph Maroon on August 25.Aside from wrestling, John has also made his own name in the movie business. In 2006, a WWE franchise movie titled The Marine was releasedwith John playing the lead character, John Triton. The movie received mix reviews due to the poor storyline anddiscrimination to the US Marines. Winning the WWE Tag Team Titles a total of three times in 2005, MNM topped tandems like Legion of Doom and Batista & Mysterio in their quest for immortality.Still, despite his three championship victories, Mercurys most memorable moment came during a losing effort. At Armageddon in 2006, MNM clashed withPaul London & Brian Kendrick, William Regal & Dave Taylor and The Hardys in a brutal Fatal-4-Way Ladder Match for the WWE Tag Team Titles. Devastating from the start, the bout took its toll on every competitor involved, but Mercury got the worst of it when he was blasted directly in the face with a ladder. The young Superstar had barely set foot in the big leagues when he laid down a challenge at the feet of William Regal, ultimately competing with the Englishman in a brutal one-on-one match that left Regal scarred and Ambrose with a dislocated shoulder.When asked for his motivation behind such incidents, Ambrose’s response waschilling. “Just to see what would happen,I get bored,” he said. “When theres a hornets nest buzzing, I’ve got to poke it. I like violence. I like danger. I live life to feel alive."Such was Ambrose’s unpredictability that he was not permitted to compete after NXT moved to Full Sail University. But true to form, he would not be held down from spreading his own personal brand of chaos to WWE. Along with NXT Champion Seth Rollins and the towering Roman Reigns, Ambrose made his most dangerous movement yet when the threesome attacked Ryback at Survivor Series 2012, driving the beast through a table and repeating the feat the next night on Raw. Ambrose led the charge, wildly hurling his body into Ryback and initiating the brutal beatdown perpetuated by his comrades.The trio took up the name of “The Shield”— black-clad advocates of justice in a WWE they believed had lost its way — and announced themselves as the most impressive sports-entertainment trio since the days when The Fabulous Freebirds terrorized Dallas. In the months after they debuted as a united front, The Shield was literally unstoppable as a unit, taking out every Superstar that stood in their path, from John Cena to The Rock. Even The Undertaker was not safe from their wrath,and it wasn’t long before the three Superstars captured championship gold:Rollins & Reigns became WWE Tag TeamChampions, and Ambrose the U.S. Champion, a title he would claim for nearly a year.The Shield’s boom period continued during their alliance with Triple H’s corporate Authority in 2013, though they would eventually turn against The King of Kings in 2014, leading to the reformation of Evolution in an attempt to combat them. Unforunately Tor the Lunatic Fringe, Seth Rollins’ plan came to fruition at WWE Money in the Bank 2014 when Ambrose was taken out of the equation thanks to the help of Demon Kane, allowing Rollins to grab thebriefcase for a guaranteed WWE World Heavyweight Championship opportunity.Ambrose vowed to keep Rollins from cashing in, but was eventually waylaid bythe returning Bray Wyatt, who he battled for the remainder of the year.At the start of the new year, Ambrose found himself in a race alongside six other Superstars in a Ladder Match for the Intercontinetal Title at WrestleMania 31 before eventually challenging Rollins once again for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship his former brother had won at The Show of Shows. When The Lunatic Fringe fell short in his pursuit of the gold, he re-entered The Wyatt Familys orbit by joining Reigns for family turf war against The Eater of Worlds that included a team-up with Chris Jericho at Night of Champions. Once that rivalry was concluded, Ambrose was entered into a tournament for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, which had been vacated thanks to an injury that stripped Rollins of the title. The Lunatic Fringe fought his way to a showdown against Reigns in the finals at Survivor Series and ultimately lost the friendly yet intense contest, though Reigns himself was vanquished moments later by the new Mr. Money in the Bank, Sheamus.Never one to dwell on a tough loss, Ambrose once again set his sights on the Intercontinental Championship, defeating Dolph Ziggler and Tyler Breeze to punch his ticket to WWE TLC, where hell challenge Owens once again with the title on the line.
